Your online advertising should have the following components to be effective. You must have an ad to post. Secondly you should also have a website, a blog, or an email address to direct traffic to. Thirdly you need to write a schedule of posting your ads. And lastly you would want to choose a very good advertising site to place your ad. Now let us look at each component in detail.

Create Your Ad

Create an ad about the product you want to market or sell. Your ad would normally have three elements. It would have a subject, a description or body, and a call to action. Make your subject line catchy and exciting to draw the attention of your prospects. The body of your ad is where you clearly tell your prospect or audience the stuff you have to sell. You state the benefits it offers and why it is unique from others. Briefly give your experience and those of other people with the product. Your call to action should be brief and to the point. It should be three to five words. Note that you are limited by characters for subject line, and certain amounts of words for description and call to action.

Website, Blog, Email Address

You need to have where to send your prospects to if not your advertising effort might be a waste. You can either have your own website or an affiliate website, a blog or an email address to send your prospects to. You do this by placing the relevant web address of what you have in your ad. Note that these can help you generate your own list or qualify your prospects as either leads or buyers.

Write Ad Posting Schedule

Writing a posting schedule would help you to be organized in your ad placement routine. When you need any information about your posting efforts you only need to check your posting schedule to look for what you want. It should have columns like date of posting, expiry date (set by you or ads site), site posted and subject line. Manual posting is preferred by most ad site to software posting.

Placing Your Ad

The first thing you want to do is to make sure the site you are placing your ad has good traffic. By this I mean prospects looking for goods and services not just advertisers placing ads on the ad site. Look at the ads that are placed there and checkout their quality. Everybody wants to sell or increase the sales of their goods and (or) services. One very important tool you need to achieve this is your sales copy letter. The techniques outlined below are written to help you achieve this. 
 

 Do market research

The first thing you do is carry out market research over a period of time. This helps you to accomplish two things. One you get to know your target audience. Secondly, you get to know what good or bad experiences they have passed through. This knowledge would help you to produce a sales copy that is relevant and compelling. 

 Make it brief and interesting

Remember that your audience do not have the time or the patience to read large blocks of sentences put together on your sales copy page. So make sure that your sales copy appears in short sentences and never put more than two to three lines together on a page. Say what you have to offer briefly and interestingly. 

Rich keyword phrases

Use the relevant keywords for your niche. This would endear your site to search engine spiders. Please do not overdo it so that your site does not appear phony. Easy search by your clients means more traffic to your sites.

Share the benefits

Make sure that you outline the benefits of your products and(or) services to your clients in a clear and concise manner. State as many benefits as possible in your sales copy letter. Benefits are what you use to create value for your clients.  Make offers they would find really difficult to refuse. 

Make a call to action

Always make a call to action at the end of your sales copy. This would help you to lock down as many sales as possible. You achieve this by giving a deadline for your call to action.

If for instance you are offering a promo with huge discounts on your products you could say that the promo would expire in one or two weeks’ time. You can also use logic to move them to action as in the example below.

To be successful working from home you need a goal. Our goal here is earning a second income online. A firm goal gives you motivation and direction. It also helps to sustain the  burning zeal required to carry you through once you start.

Now that you have a goal you will need to strategize. This means how do you intend to reach your goal? Make a plan that you can carry out easily. At this point you have to decide what resources you are going to use and to set a budget. If you are working a regular job you have to put your office and other work area into order and prepare your "to-do- list”.

After strategizing, the next thing is for you to set up a schedule that implements the strategies and take to your goal. Working from home provides flexibility and time freedom, but it requires time management skills and discipline. It is good practice at this time to set up enough "office hours" in order to stay on schedule and reach your goals.

There are basically two options, sell your own product, that is being a vendor, or you sell another person’s product, that is, being an affiliate. Some work from home opportunity would require your paying some fee to join while others are free to join. You decide which to choose depending on your finances or your target income. Free to join programs normally take time to build a reasonable income. Paid to join programs gives faster income or return on investment (ROI).

Lastly, make sure you choose genuine work from home opportunities. This would help to avoid wasting time and money. Take time to review your progress! It is very important to pause every once in a while to review what is working and what isn't. It is also good practice to celebrate those successes to boost up your morale and to check to see if you are headed in the right direction to meet your goal. You might even re-evaluate your goal in order to set a new or different one.

Please note that to earn a second income working from home will take hard work and perseverance, and focus. Identifying goals, creating a strategy, scheduling those strategies, choosing an opportunity and celebrating success will add structure and progress to your hard work and efforts, making it worth-while.
